CVE-2026-31512

Service interruption via truncated L2CAP ECRED PDU

Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux Kernel Bluetooth L2CAP allows local users to crash the kernel via a truncated Enhanced Credit PDU. l2cap_ecred_data_rcv() reads the two-byte SDU length from skb->data before verifying that the socket buffer contains two bytes. Reachability requires local privileges and the Enhanced Credit Based Flow Control path; the bounded impact is service interruption, with no supported confidentiality or integrity effect.
