Local system hang via uninitialized completion
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Use of an uninitialized completion in Linux Kernel allows local users to hang the system through the irdma RDMA driver. In irdma_create_qp, an ib_copy_to_udata failure invokes irdma_destroy_qp before free_qp is initialized, so cleanup waits on an uninitialized completion. A low-privileged local user must cause the copy to fail during queue-pair creation; the resulting cleanup wait can interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
