Suspend hang via blocked FUSE writeback
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
A writeback deadlock in affected Linux Kernel releases allows local users to hang suspend through a FUSE filesystem. The sync_inodes_sb path waits for flusher threads after initiating dirty-inode writeback even when the FUSE superblock cannot guarantee data persistence. Triggering the hang requires a FUSE daemon that is frozen or fails to complete writeback while the kernel performs suspend-time synchronization.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
