CVE-2026-31463Network attack vector

Kernel memory corruption via stale folio ownership

Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026

Memory corruption in Linux Kernel 6.19 through 6.19.10 allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory via file reads. iomap_read_folio_iter() retains ctx->cur_folio when partial I/O is submitted without iomap_folio_state, so iomap_read_end() accesses a folio already owned and completed by the I/O helper. Reachability requires an iomap-backed filesystem whose block size equals the folio size but differs from I/O granularity; the flaw can disclose or corrupt kernel memory, or hang or crash the system.
