Unauthenticated rollback cancellation via missing capability check
Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026
Missing authorization in BoldGrid Total Upkeep 1.17.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to cancel a pending automatic rollback. The wp_ajax_cli_cancel AJAX handler accepts unauthenticated cancellation requests without checking a WordPress capability before stopping the queued rollback. A reachable WordPress admin AJAX endpoint and a pending rollback are required; cancellation can prevent automatic recovery from a failed update.
