Stored XSS via unescaped post_var output
Published Apr 8, 2026 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Site Verification Meta Tag 1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through post_var. The plugin stores post_var without sufficient sanitization and later emits it into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the stored payload runs in the browser context of each user who opens an affected page.
