Unauthenticated file deletion via unprotected REST route
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
Arbitrary file deletion in wpWax FormGent 1.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete files through an unauthenticated REST endpoint. The attachment route in routes/rest/api.php lacks authentication middleware, and its controller performs deletion without a capability check. Deletion is normally limited to FormGent uploads, but on Linux hosts where that directory is absent, traversal reaches wp-config.php and enables site takeover after reinstallation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
