Unauthenticated database changes via anonymous migrate action
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Missing authorization in Craft CMS 5.9.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to invoke the migrate endpoint without authentication. AppController marks the migrate action as anonymously accessible in both live and offline modes, so a POST request reaches migration logic without an authorization check. The published proof of concept shows the unauthenticated action deleting the sessions table, disrupting session-backed operation.
