Unauthenticated memory deletion via unprotected API
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Missing authentication and authorization in mem0 server 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary users' memory records. The DELETE /memories handler accepts user_id, run_id, or agent_id query parameters and deletes matching records without authenticating the requester or checking ownership. Network access to the self-hosted API is sufficient; successful requests erase stored memory data and can interrupt dependent services.
