Unauthenticated memory-record tampering via unprotected API endpoint
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Missing authentication in the mem0 server 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to overwrite or delete arbitrary memory records through its API. The PUT /memories/{memory_id} handler accepts updates without verifying the requester’s identity or permission, while the management API exposes deletion without those controls. Network access to the self-hosted API is sufficient to tamper with stored memory data, including overwriting or deleting selected records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
