Remote code execution via manifest post-install script
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Code injection in Guardrails AI 0.6.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious Hub package. The Hub installer trusts the package manifest's post_install path and dynamically executes the referenced script without validating or sanitizing the manifest value. Exploitation requires the attacker to publish a malicious validator package and an operator to install it, after which the script runs with the operator's privileges.
