Code execution via unsafe model deserialization
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Insecure deserialization in Snorkel through 0.10.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malicious model checkpoint. Trainer.load() passes the checkpoint to torch.load() without weights_only=True, permitting Pickle to instantiate attacker-controlled Python objects. Exploitation requires the supplied checkpoint to be loaded, after which code runs with that process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
