Unauthenticated command execution via pppoeMtu injection
Published Apr 23, 2026 · Updated Apr 23, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK A3300R firmware 17.0.0cu.557_B20221024 allows remote attackers to execute commands via pppoeMtu. In cstecgi.cgi, sub_422380 passes the request value through Uci_Set_Str, which formats it with sprintf before CsteSystem wraps it for execv without neutralizing shell metacharacters. An unauthenticated network request to the management CGI is sufficient, and injected commands run in the firmware service context.
