Process crash via unchecked recursive tag loading
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Uncontrolled recursion in International Color Consortium iccDEV before 2.3.1.5 allows local users to crash a profile-processing tool. CIccTagStruct::Read accepts a nested tag size larger than the input, then recursively loads embedded structures until the process stack is exhausted. Exploitation requires a crafted ICC profile to be opened by a user in an affected tool, interrupting only that process.
