Application crash via freed profile dereference
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Heap use-after-free in iccDEV before 2.3.1.5 allows attackers to crash a local profile-processing application with a crafted ICC profile. CIccCmm::AddXform passes the parsed CIccProfile to CIccXform::Create, which can delete it, then reads the freed object and dispatches through its invalid virtual pointer. Exploitation requires a user or local application to process the crafted profile; the demonstrated consequence is an abort and application crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
