Administrator code execution via installer DLL hijacking
Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026
DLL search-path hijacking in the Qsee Client installer 1.0.1 and earlier allows local users to execute code with administrator privileges. The installer searches its own directory for a required DLL and loads an attacker-supplied file there without constraining the search path. Exploitation requires a user to place the malicious DLL beside the installer and run it; the payload then executes as administrator.
