Code execution via unconfined cluster archive paths
Published Apr 29, 2026 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Path traversal in Wazuh Manager 4.4.0 through 4.14.3 allows remote authenticated users to write files via cluster synchronization. decompress_files() passes peer-controlled archive paths directly to os.path.join() and opens the result without normalization or a containment check. A valid cluster key is required; writes run with the cluster daemon's privileges and can replace loaded Python modules for code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
