Authentication bypass in MantisBT before 2.28.1 allows remote attackers to access a victim's SOAP API account via a crafted request. The mci_check_login() function accepts a non-string password and passes it into authentication, where MySQL's implicit conversion can make it compare equal to the stored credential. Exploitation requires the victim's username, an accessible SOAP API, and a MySQL-family backend; access permits SOAP operations authorized to the victim.
