Authenticated avatar deletion via missing ownership check
Published Mar 7, 2026 · Updated Mar 7, 2026
Missing authorization in Wallos before 4.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users’ uploaded avatar files. The endpoints/user/delete_avatar.php handler deletes a user-supplied filename from the shared avatar directory without verifying that the file belongs to the requester. A normal account and a discoverable avatar filename are sufficient; the bounded consequence is deletion of that avatar file.
