DataWriter spoofing via unvalidated RTPS GUIDs
Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026
Authentication bypass in RTI Connext Professional Security Plugins allows malicious insiders to spoof DataWriters via crafted RTPS messages. Origin Authentication validates publication_handle but accepts original_publication_virtual_guid, source_guid, and endpoint discovery GUIDs without matching them to the authenticated writer. Exploitation requires Security Plugins with Origin Authentication enabled and insider access; forged samples can impersonate another writer or suppress its future samples.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
