Remote access via unchecked password deep link
Published Mar 5, 2026 · Updated Mar 5, 2026
CSRF in RustDesk Client through 1.4.5 allows remote attackers to set a permanent access password through a crafted deep link. The Flutter rustdesk://password/ handler passes the supplied value directly to bind.mainSetPermanentPassword() without the CLI's root check or confirmation. The path is mobile-only and disabled by default; when enabled on Android, opening attacker-controlled content permits later remote control with the chosen password.
