Code execution via MIME-only upload validation
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in SourceBans Material Admin 1.1.6 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted map image. The pages/admin.uploadmapimg.php handler trusts the client-supplied image/jpeg Content-Type, then moves the upload under its original name into the web-served maps directory without validating its contents or extension. Direct access requires an authenticated administrator with server-edit permission; changing the MIME header permits .htaccess and PHP-shell uploads that execute with the web server account.
