Browser script execution via unsanitized text rendering
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Cross-site scripting in @cyntler/react-doc-viewer 1.17.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted .txt file. TXTRenderer in src/renderers/txt/index.tsx casts currentDocument.fileData directly to ReactNode without sanitizing or escaping the file content. Execution requires a victim to load the attacker-controlled text file in an application using the viewer, exposing the browser session to script-driven data access and actions.
