File read and write via traversable paths
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Path traversal in knowns-dev Knowns 0.11.4 allows attackers to read or modify files through crafted MCP document paths. The get_doc and update_doc tools resolve caller-controlled path values without confining the result to .knowns/docs before reading or writing Markdown files. Access to the affected MCP server tools is required, and traversal is limited to files accepted by their document-path handling.
