Authenticated file disclosure via unrestricted PHP stream wrappers
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Path traversal in File Thingie 2.5.7 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through remote resource upload. The ft2.php createdir action accepts a user-supplied php://filter URL as newdir, base64-encodes the named local resource, and writes the result into the web root without restricting the URI scheme. Valid application credentials are required; successful exploitation discloses readable file contents without modifying their source files or interrupting service.
