Account takeover via Host-header poisoning
Published Apr 16, 2026 · Updated Apr 16, 2026
Host-header poisoning in Daylight Studio FUEL CMS 1.5.2 allows remote attackers to steal password-reset tokens through emailed links. The pwd_reset action passes a token-bearing path to fuel_url(), which uses the unvalidated client-controlled Host header to generate the reset URL placed in the message. An attacker needs a valid user email, and the victim must click the poisoned link; the captured token permits the victim's password to be reset.
