Authenticated article overwrite via duplicate-and-save ID manipulation
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026
Broken access control in Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite articles owned by higher-privileged users. The duplicate-and-save workflow in textpattern/include/txp_article.php accepts a manipulated article ID without enforcing ownership before saving. Low-privilege article-management access is required, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized modification of stored article content.
