Code execution via imported-file path traversal
Published Apr 1, 2026 · Updated Apr 1, 2026
Path traversal in Tinybeans Private Family Album App 5.9.5-prod allows attackers to overwrite internal files through file import. com.tinybeans.MainActivity accepts an imported file's attacker-controlled name and content without sufficient path validation, allowing traversal into the app's internal storage. A malicious app can trigger the import after the victim opens it, enabling configuration or executable-file replacement that causes data exposure, app failure, or code execution.
