Authenticated thumbnail disclosure via skipped password verification
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Authorization bypass in FlintSH Flare before 1.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to view password-protected file thumbnails. The thumbnail route fetches the file password but serves the generated preview without comparing it with a supplied password. Exploitation requires a non-owner account, a file identifier, and a password-protected file; it discloses the thumbnail preview rather than the raw file.
