Request denial via unchecked supported-features slice access
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Denial of service in free5GC 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to trigger a UDM handler panic via a crafted shared-data request. HandleGetSharedData reads supportedFeatures[0] without checking whether the supported-features query parameter produced a nonempty slice. The UDM SDM endpoint must be network-reachable; the published trace shows recovery as an HTTP 500, so a wider process crash is not demonstrated.
