Service interruption via unchecked nested registration fields
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in free5GC 4.0.1 allows attackers to interrupt UDM registration through an incomplete JSON payload. RegistrationAmf3gppAccessProcedure assumes nested Amf3GppAccessRegistration fields exist and dereferences a missing field without validation. A crafted HTTP PUT to the 3GPP-access registration endpoint triggers a Go panic and HTTP 500 response, disrupting UDM request processing.
