AMF crash via short JSON Patch path
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Improper input validation in free5GC AMF 4.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash the process with a crafted subscription PATCH request. ModifyAMFEventSubscriptionProcedure slices the JSON Patch path at byte 11 without first checking its length, causing a bounds panic for a short path. Network access to the AMF service-based interface and a subscription identifier are required; successful exploitation interrupts the AMF service.
