NRF crash via overflowing requester-features parsing
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Integer overflow in Open5GS 2.7.6 allows remote attackers to crash the NRF with a crafted HTTP/2 GET request. The SBI request parser passes requester-features to ogs_uint64_from_string(), whose strtoll() error path invokes a fatal assertion when an oversized hexadecimal value causes ERANGE. Network access to the NRF discovery endpoint is required; one malformed request terminates the NRF process and interrupts network-function discovery.
