CVE-2026-29988

Key disclosure via cleartext NFC reads

Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026

Cleartext transmission in affected Milesight IoT device firmware allows physically proximate attackers to retrieve cryptographic keys via NFC. An NFC read operation returns LoRaWAN ABP NwkSKey and AppSKey values and D2D keys in cleartext instead of protecting them. Physical access with NFC tooling and ABP mode or enabled D2D is required; stolen keys permit traffic decryption, frame forgery, false sensor data, supported commands, and rejection of legitimate frames.
