Authenticated file disclosure via unsafe SVG parsing
Published Mar 30, 2026 · Updated Mar 30, 2026
XML external entity injection in Grav CMS 1.7.x and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files through SVG uploads. VectorImageMedium parses uploaded SVG content with simplexml_load_string without blocking external entities, so crafted entity references resolve local files or URLs. Access to page media upload or the File Manager plugin is required; successful exploitation discloses server files or reaches internal services.
