Sensitive file disclosure via download path traversal
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Path traversal in aaPanel 7.57.0 allows remote attackers to read sensitive local files through the web-based download endpoint. The /download handler accepts filename values containing ../ sequences without constraining the resolved path, so requests can return files such as /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow. Possession of a generated temporary-login link is sufficient to reach the endpoint; the root-privileged service can disclose host-level secrets.
