Authenticated gateway crash via unchecked password copy
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in HiPER 810G 1.7.7-1711 allows remote authenticated users to crash the gateway via a crafted passwd1 value. /goform/setSysAdm passes passwd1 to strcpy without checking its length, overwriting stack memory associated with InstPointByName. Administrative Digest authentication is required; the public proof of concept establishes denial of service, while code execution is not demonstrated.
