Unauthenticated charger impersonation via identifier-only WebSocket connection
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Authentication bypass in IGL-Technologies eParking.fi all versions allows remote attackers to impersonate charging stations over OCPP. The OCPP WebSocket endpoint accepts a known or discovered station identifier without authenticating the connecting device, then treats that connection as the charger. Exposure is limited to unencrypted third-party OCPP device links without security profiles, where attackers can issue or receive charger commands and corrupt backend data.
