Authenticated RCE via spoofed upload Content-Type
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in FastAPI Admin 2.0 through 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to write files through the upload API. UploadUtil.check_file_extension derives an allowed extension from the attacker-controlled Content-Type header without checking file content, after which upload_file writes the supplied bytes to disk. Remote authenticated users with module_common:file:upload permission can combine a saved Python file with scheduled-task APIs to execute commands on the server.
