Authenticated router crash via unbounded WPS parameter copy
Published Feb 22, 2026 · Updated Feb 22, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DWR-M960 1.01.07 allows remote authenticated users to crash or reboot the router through WPS requests. The sub_457C5C handler in /boafrm/formWsc uses strcpy to copy the user-controlled submit-url value into the fixed-size wizard_htm buffer without checking its length. An authenticated POST containing save_apply must reach the WPS handler; the published proof of concept demonstrates a web-server crash that makes the device unreachable.
