Browser script execution via unvalidated profile updates
Published Feb 22, 2026 · Updated Feb 22, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in RYMCU Forest 0.0.1 through 0.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through profile updates. The /api/v1/user-info/update handler binds an untrusted UserInfoDTO and passes it to userService.updateUserInfo without validation or neutralization. A user permission and a victim who views the saved profile are required; the script then modifies content in that victim's browser context.
