Application crash via malformed RealMedia video packets
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in GStreamer gst-plugins-ugly before 1.28.1 allows attackers to crash applications via crafted RealMedia files. The RealMedia demuxer processes malformed video packet data without sufficient bounds validation and writes past a heap buffer. A target application must process the supplied file; upstream confirms application crash, while ZDI reports code execution in the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
