Unauthenticated root file read via decoded traversal
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Path traversal in WebPros cPanel 120 and later and WP Squared allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through cpdavd. The managed attachment GET handler validates the raw URI before percent-decoding it, then opens the resulting traversal path after a temporary privilege-drop object has restored root. Exploitation requires ports 2079 or 2080, a valid virtual email account, and delivery to a plus-addressed mailbox; no authentication or user interaction is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
