Credential disclosure via world-readable routing configurations
Published Mar 5, 2026 · Updated Mar 5, 2026
Credential exposure in IDC SFX2100 Satellite Receiver firmware allows local users to read routing-daemon passwords from world-readable files. Root-owned zebra.conf, bgpd.conf, ospfd.conf, and ripd.conf files are installed mode 0644 while storing reused plaintext normal- and enable-mode credentials. Low-privileged shell access is required to read the files; the reused values grant routing-daemon access and access to other systems using them.
