CVE-2026-29126Public exploit

Local root code execution via writable DHCP script

Published Mar 5, 2026 · Updated Mar 5, 2026

Incorrect permissions in the IDC SFX2100 Satellite Receiver allow local users to execute root commands via a writable DHCP event script. The root-owned /etc/udhcpc/default.script is mode 0777, so it accepts unprivileged writes and runs attacker-added shell commands as root. Any local account can append commands; root execution occurs when BusyBox udhcpc processes a DHCP lease event, enabling privilege escalation and persistence.
