Privilege escalation in International Datacasting Corporation SFX2100 Satellite Receiver allows local users to gain root access. Four root-owned executables under /home/monitor retain the SUID bit and invoke commands or follow symlinks from a writable directory while privileged. A low-privileged local account with write access to the monitor home is required; successful abuse executes attacker-controlled operations as root.
