Authenticated SQL injection via raw DID filters
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
SQL injection in affected Rucio releases allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PostgreSQL queries via DID search. FilterEngine.create_postgres_query() interpolates attacker-controlled filter keys and values into raw SQL with str.format(), then sql.SQL() treats the result as trusted syntax. Reachability requires the nondefault postgres_meta plugin and a valid Rucio token; database privileges bound data access, modification, file access, and command execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 1.30.0, < 35.8.5
- Affected versionversion=>= 35.9.0, < 38.5.5
