Authenticated service crash via unbounded error formatting
Published Feb 22, 2026 · Updated Feb 22, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda HG9 300001138 allows remote authenticated users to crash the web service via a crafted pingAddr. In formPing's error path, unbounded sprintf copies the attacker-controlled pingAddr into a 512-byte stack buffer after ping reports a bad address. Low-privileged web-interface access and input that reaches this error path are required; the demonstrated consequence is an httpd crash.
