Reader-level database access via unrestricted SQL execution
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Missing authorization in SiYuan before 3.6.0 allows remote authenticated users with Reader access to read or write its database. The /api/query/sql handler in kernel/api/sql.go passes the caller-supplied stmt value directly to sql.Query, while its route applies CheckAuth without an administrator-role check. The publish service must be enabled and Reader credentials suffice; successful queries disclose other users' notes and can alter data or consume database resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
