Unauthenticated application crash via excess RTP frames
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Stack buffer overflow in PJPROJECT before 2.17 allows remote attackers to crash applications by sending crafted RTP payloads. The Opus, SILK, and Speex codec_parse functions trust the packet-derived frame count and write parsed frames past the caller-provided frames array capacity. Exposure requires an application to receive attacker-controlled RTP while using one of those codecs; the published impact is an application crash, not demonstrated code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
